Native to the mountains of western North America, the Concolor fir (white fir) is admired for its soft, silvery-blue needles and refreshing citrus fragrance. Needles measure 1½ to 3 inches long, much longer than those of most firs, which can cause the tree to be mistaken for a pine at first glance. Unlike pines, however, Concolor needles grow singly from the branches rather than in clusters. Strong, well-spaced branches easily support larger ornaments, while excellent needle retention ensures lasting freshness. With its graceful color, sturdy form, and distinctive scent, the Concolor fir is a standout holiday choice.
